Of Cats and Tugs

Mmm…about cats. Some are sane, some are mad and some are good and some are bad…
Remember magical Mr Mistoffelees, sleepy Old Deuteronomy and curious Rum Tum Tugger? Throughout the 1930s, T. S. Eliot composed the now famous poems about Macavity, Old Deuteronomy, Mr Mistoffelees and many other cats, under the name of “Old Possum”. Yes, the musical play “Cats” was partly based on this book. Now we can enjoy the new edition of “Old Possum´s Book of Practical Cats”, published on the 70th anniversary of the book, containing original colour illustrations by the illustrator Axel Scheffler.

And the other children´s book you must have this Xmas is…

Timmy the Tug”, by the great Ted Hugues.
Ten years after the poet´s death, we can enjoy a recently discovered children´s poem by Hugues that had been lost for over fifty years! Written in the mid 50´s, the poem accompanies a story that was conceived and charmingly illustrated in watercolour by his friend Jim Downer.

Two masterpieces no one can miss!
